Life Lager Beer says that it has begun a new process of making and discovering new sets of entrepreneurs in Igboland, using the popular Igbo apprenticeship system (Igba Boi).

The brand announced in Aba on Sunday that it has spotlighted the “Igba Boi Spirit” (Igbo apprenticeship system Spirit)/”Nwa Boi Spirit” as part of its efforts to strengthen the brand’s cultural connection with the South East.

According to the Corporate Affairs Manager South, Nigeria Breweries, Ekele Eze, the “Nwa Boi” represents more than a stage in the journey, as it reflects discipline, loyalty, learning, and the determination to grow into leadership and success.

This is even as he went ahead to describe the “Nwa Boi spirit” as a powerful symbol of resilience, ambition, and tradition that has shaped generations of entrepreneurs across the South East.

Eze noted that from the markets of Aba to business hubs across Nigeria and beyond, the “Nwa Boi” system continues to drive economic empowerment, community development, and cultural pride.

He said that by celebrating the “Igba Boi System”, Life brand aligns with the aspiration of raising beer merchants of the future, empowering the next generation of business leaders.

Eze added that this new generation of business leaders will continue to grow the trade, strengthen community ties, and uphold the values of trust, partnership, and shared prosperity.

“Through this narrative, Life Lager honours the mindset of progress, the importance of mentorship, and the enduring spirit that continues to shape the South East story,” Eze said.

He added that although the “Nwa Boi” system is deeply rooted in Igbo culture, Life Lager Beer finds it expedient to spotlight the Nwa Boi story now because it represents a proven model of empowerment built on mentorship, trust, and enterprise.

According to Eze, “At a time when young people are seeking opportunity and direction, highlighting this pathway reinforces values of discipline, learning, and ambition that continue to shape the economic strength of the South East.”

The South East Regional Business Manager of Nigerian Breweries, Kingsley Anyanwu, said that the initiative contributes to raising beer merchants of the future easily because the apprenticeship system teaches young entrepreneurs the fundamentals of trade, customer relationships, consistency, and long-term thinking.

Anyanwu also said that by supporting the “Nwa Boi” culture, Life Lager is investing in future business leaders and raising beer merchants of the future who understand the value of partnership, consistency, and community trust.

He urged the mentors of the Igbo Apprenticeship System, the apprentices and the business communities across Igboland to keep building, keep learning, and keep sharing success.

Anyanwu stressed that every milestone achieved contributes to a stronger community and a more prosperous future, as “Life Lager is proud to celebrate the journey and the spirit that continues to shape the South East.”

Senior Brand Manager, Dims Chima, said that Life Lager hopes young people will take from the campaign the Nwa Boi mentality, stressing that “great achievements often begin with small steps.

“The Nwa Boi journey shows that patience, dedication, and the willingness to learn can create lasting success. Life Lager celebrates that journey and encourages young people to believe in the process.”

He said that there is a nexus between the Life Lager brand and the “Nwa Boi” campaign, stressing that the initiative got its inspiration from recognising a cultural pathway that has consistently produced entrepreneurs and strengthened communities in Igboland.

“Life is more than just living. For the Igbo man, each new day is an opportunity to turn dreams into business, and every milestone achieved is meant to be enjoyed and shared. The Nwa Boi system reflects this journey of growth, patience, resilience, and eventual success.

“The inspiration comes from recognising a cultural pathway that has consistently produced entrepreneurs and strengthened communities. Life Lager identifies with this spirit of progress, celebrating the steps taken today that lead to greater achievements tomorrow, while supporting and raising beer merchants of the future,” Dims said.

Chima also said that the “Nwa Boi” story reflects the mindset Life Lager represents, because the “Nwa Boi” journey reflects the belief that success is built step by step.

“It highlights humility in learning, courage in taking risks, and pride in achievement. These values align with the Life Lager philosophy that every stage of progress deserves recognition and celebration.”
