In another Trump-style misrepresentation of facts, Chima Anyaso has claimed that the Bende-Item road was built by his family. This claim was made at the recently concluded Abia Election Debate where he went up against Benjamin Kalu esq. which was captured on video.
FACT CHECK: The Bende-Item road cuts across Ozuitem and through Igbere to Item. It was the very first road built by Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu as Abia State Governor in 2001.
Following the debate, reports of plans by Mr. Anyaso to erect a toll gate on the Bende-Item road have began to circulate in the affected communities.
Drum Africa News reached out to Mr. Anyaso’s camp for confirmation of the reports and has not yet received any feedback.
