Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State yesterday met with top management of the Anoh Gas Processing Company where both parties reaffirmed their strategic partnership.

As gathered by DrumAfricanews, this strategic partnership is aimed at enhancing the economic growth of not just Imo as the Company’s host State but Nigeria as a whole.

    A statement by Oguwike Nwachuku,
Chief Press Secretary Special Adviser Media to Governor Hope Uzodimma explained that the brief but critical meeting which took place in the Governor’s office at Owerri was also an opportunity for the Anoh Gas Processing Company to introduce her new helmsman, the Managing Director, Mr. James Makinde.

Makinde according to the statement was accompanied on the visit by his General Manager, Operations, Engr. Amaechi Nwogbe.

Uzodimma had reiterated his administration’s commitment to building strategic partnerships, not only with Anoh Gas Processing Company but with other forward-looking establishments, with the intention of driving economic growth and shared prosperity across Imo State and beyond.

Making emphasis on the Anoh Gas Processing Company in particular, Uzodimma stressed that their presence in Imo is to ensure that the vast potential of the State’s gas reserves does not remain abstract.

The governor said he was glad to note that Anoh Gas Processing Company had taken advantage of the large quantity of gas deposits in Imo State, and promised the new management of his administration’s willingness to continue creating an enabling environment that will guarantee the success of their strategic collaboration.

He reaffirmed his administration’s desire to ensure that the State’s hydrocarbon wealth was put to proper economic use in the interest of the suffering citizens, and particularly, for the enhancement of their living standard.

“This government remains committed to partnerships and collaborations that align with our objective of sharing prosperity across the State.”

Uzodimma urged Anoh Gas Chiefs to focus on actionable frameworks that will deepen local content, create jobs, build infrastructure and expand revenue streams in a manner that will result to a win-win situation for the company and Imo State.

In his remarks earlier, the Managing Director, Mr. Makinde expressed his desire to meet with the Governor shortly after resuming recently.

Makinde reemphasized the Company’s readiness to deepen her strategic collaboration with Imo in the State’s quest to expand access to gas-based industries and for other uses.

He noted that Anoh Gas Processing Company is pleased to be exploring practical areas of partnership aimed at unlocking Imo’s natural resource potential, stressing that the intention is to deliver sustainable socioeconomic benefits to the people of the State in particular and the country at large.

The MD thanked the Governor for finding time to interface with his team despite his tight schedule.
