Ariaria International Market Taking CVR Seriously Than Ever – Chairman

…says Ariaria is comfortable now, doesn’t want to see bad governance again

The chairman of the Ariaria International Market Traders Association (AIMATA), Sir Hyacinth Ositadinma Nnabude, has said that the remaining schedule for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) will be treated with a high level of seriousness as though lives depend on it.

Sir Nnabude, who has been monitoring the registration from zone to zone, likes to line as well as capture other people who earn their daily living in Ariaria International Market, like the okada riders, wheelbarrow pushers, truck pushers, loaders and jobmen, and said that no one will be left unregistered.

The AIMATA chairman, who said that Ariaria International Market has all it takes to decide who should govern Abia State, stressed that they cannot sit on the fence and watch the ongoing good governance in Abia, which has affected everyone positively, be truncated.

Registration Ongoing In Ariaria, Sponsored By AIMATA

“We know that our governor has done very well and a second term is assured. However, we have decided to give him a resounding victory. Ariaria has the number, Ariaria has the strength, and on the day of the election, we shall prove to everyone that we know just one man, our incumbent governor, Dr Alex Otti.”

DrumAfricanews reports that Nnabude, AIMATA chairman, and his executive have been sponsoring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Permanent Voters Card (PVC) registration from February 2026 to date, making sure everyone has the opportunity to get his or her PVC.

The AIMATA executive led by Nnabude has resurrected the political culture of the majority of the traders that have over the years been politically docile, and a sign of unprecedented political participation is now seen all over Ariaria International Market, as governance and politics are now becoming a topic among traders.

A few days ago, the AIMATA executives were seen entering the market for more sensitisation on the continuous voter registration in the market zones.

“We are the first market in Abia State that takes INEC PVC registration into market zones. We are also the first market to organise registration of PVCs for Okada and Keke riders, wheelbarrow and truck pushers, and jobmen.

“We’ve taken the CVR to major motor parks in this market. On the 16th of May, 2026, we began registration with three INEC machines. We have two inside the zones and one at the popular AKTC Motor Park.

Registration Ongoing In Ariaria International Market

“We also encourage INEC to see if they can work on Saturdays, knowing that this exercise is no longer going to end in August as earlier scheduled, but in the first week of July. We’re making this market the centre point and the nucleus of Aba politics.

“This government has not neglected us since 2023, and we’ll never abandon this government. It’s our government, and after this government has finished its beautiful second term, we want to make sure that Ariaria International Market will never accept any form of mediocrity going forward because Governor Alex Otti has set a standard that we don’t want to go out from.”

Nanbude said that the Permanent Voters Card registration at Article and Provision in A Line to E was a big success with enough tone-up and added that he is overwhelmed by the performance of zonal traders in Ariaria Article and Provisions A-LINE to E.

“This is just happening in one section of Ariaria International Market, as we are presently operating with three INEC machines in the market, which we will continue till everybody is registered,” Sir Nnabude said.

The majority of the traders expressed their sincere appreciation to Sir Nnabude for the remarkable work he has been doing, stressing that it is now visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that he was truly prepared to lead Ariaria International Market, Aba.

They praised his strategic approach, commitment, and sacrifices toward voter registration as well as e-registration, describing it as highly commendable.

“It was inspiring to discover the level of effort the chairman and his team are putting in to ensure that every market man and woman gets registered. I was also impressed by some of the capital projects already completed and awaiting commissioning. His leadership is impactful, progressive, and worthy of commendation,” a grateful trader said.

Another appreciative trader said, “I sincerely want to appreciate him for the remarkable work he is doing. I had the privilege of joining him in a very productive meeting with the zonal chairmen of Ariaria International Market, and what we saw were leaders who are focused, prepared, and determined to make progress.”

Nnabude went on to thank the people of Igbodinma Zone and Chief C.C. Nnanyelugo, the chairman of the zone, for hosting INEC PVC and E-Registration in Ariaria International Market.

“I am proud of you and many others who have kept up this good work. Keep on cooperating till we see our able governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, come back in 2027. That is our greatest assignment. Working in unison and dominion, we conquer.”
