With the aim to provide a modern and comfortable workspace for Imo Revenue Service personnel, aligning with international standards, the ongoing construction of the 11-storey Imo Revenue Service building is progressing, with works advancing in stages.

Drum Africa reports that with the substructure completed around early February and superstructure works underway, the construction has reached the second floor, with the mezzanine floor advancing concurrently, with electrical, plumbing, and piping components progressing in tandem, enabling efficient project delivery.

Information from the Imo State Ministry of Works has it that the project is being handled by Craneburg Construction Company, and when completed, the building will boost productivity and efficiency for Imo Revenue Service personnel, while its strategic location and design will enhance accessibility and service delivery to taxpayers, ultimately growing the state’s revenue base.

Addressing journalists that went to the site during an inspection by the state commissioner for works and infrastructural development, Ralph Nwosu, the project engineer promised that all necessary resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, are available and have been deployed to ensure the project’s timely completion, in line with best engineering practices.

He said that the project is being constructed according to designed specifications, with a robust foundation system comprising reinforced concrete piles and pile caps, designed to support the building’s superstructure.

The Commissioner, while speaking, talked about the state government’s unwavering commitment to completing the project and urged the contractor to maintain the current pace in order to deliver the project within the contractual period.

He emphasised that the project remains a priority for the state government and assured the contractor of the government’s continued support and cooperation.

The commissioner charged the contractor to accelerate the construction pace, recognising the project’s intricacies while stressing the imperative of meeting the scheduled deadline.

Nwosu further reaffirmed the government’s commitment to delivering quality and sustainable infrastructure, in line with international best practices, and urged the contractor to maintain the requisite standards.
