Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Wednesday stormed his hometown, Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he urged residents to come out in large numbers for the November 8, 2025 governorship election.
Addressing a massive crowd at the Central School Field, Soludo told supporters that the power to shape Anambra’s future lies in their hands, reminding them that “your vote is your voice.”
He described the coming election as a defining moment for the state, noting that his administration has recorded remarkable progress in infrastructure, education, and community development – achievements he hopes to build upon if re-elected.
The rally, which marked Soludo’s official homecoming, drew a sea of supporters and traditional leaders who pledged their loyalty to his re-election bid.
Chief Evarist Ubah hailed the governor’s leadership style, saying Soludo has shown “unwavering commitment to the growth and unity of Anambra.”
Also speaking, Fidelis Okafor, President General of the Isuofia People’s Movement, described Soludo as a son of the soil who has never turned his back on his people.
“His accessibility and listening ear have brought real development to our communities,” Okafor said.
Another community voice, Ifeanyi Ifemelu, urged residents to sustain the momentum, noting that Soludo’s policies have already changed many lives for the better.
The event, which featured cultural displays and solidarity songs, ended with renewed calls for voter participation. Supporters contributed over ₦200 million in donations to strengthen Soludo’s campaign machinery across the state.
INEC set for November 8 election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed full readiness for the November 8 poll.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, said during a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka that over 24,000 ad-hoc staff and 540 journalists have been accredited for the exercise across 5,718 polling units in the state.
According to him, 16 candidates from 16 political parties will contest the governorship race, including the incumbent, Prof. Soludo, who is seeking re-election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
INEC reaffirmed its commitment to credible and inclusive elections, assuring voters that every ballot will count.
A rally beyond politics
For many in Isuofia, Soludo’s visit was more than a campaign stop; it was a celebration of community spirit, unity, and hope. The governor closed the rally with a passionate message:
“Election day is not just about choosing leaders; it’s about choosing the future we want for our children and generations to come. Let’s make our voices heard.”
As Anambra prepares for a crucial vote, Soludo’s message echoes across the state – participation is power, and the future of Anambra lies in the hands of its people.
