The former presidential spokesperson to ex-Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, will be buried in his hometown, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, on March 28, 2025.
According to the notice, burial rites will begin on Saturday, March 22, with a commendation service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David, Abuja.
On Thursday, March 27, a Service of Songs and a Day of Tributes will be held at Trinity House, by Water Corporation Drive, off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, at 11am.
This will be followed by a wake at Agbonmagbe Castle, Sagamu-Iperu Road, Ogun State, at 4pm.
Lying in state will take place on Friday, March 28, at Agbonmagbe Castle, Sagamu-Iperu Road, Ogun State, at 9:30am.
The burial service is scheduled for the same day at Methodist Church, Akesan Road, Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, at 10am. Interment will hold thereafter.
He served as Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Olusegun Obasanjo and later as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Goodluck Jonathan.
Beyond politics, he was a physician and co-founder of Royal Cross Medical Centre.
He also served as the National Publicity Secretary of the National Republican Convention and was a former governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State.
