The member representing Bende Federal Constituency and Spokesperson of the House, Rep. Benjamin Kalu received a Special Change of Command Exclusive Medal from one the Stakeholders of Item Community Chief Steve Ndukwe on behalf of his son, Commander Kelechi Ndukwe the first America-Nigerian Captain of a US Navy Ship who is currently the Executive Officer of USS HALSEY (DDG 97) in recognition for his outstanding performance at the House of Representatives.
Chief Ndukwe while presenting the Change of Station Medal on behalf of the US guided Missile destroyer at his country home in Item applauded the Representative for the quality representation he has brought to the people of Bende and the dividends of democracy which he also attracted across all communities of the Constituency.
He expressed pleasure for the legislative prowess of the Honorable Member adding that he is truly proud of his strides at the Green Chambers, stressing that he doesn’t hesitate to tell everyone around him that he is his representative each time he sees him speaking eloquently on tv.
Chief Steve further urged the Honorable Member to continue to his good representation assuring him of his unwavering support in whichever way possible.
Rep. Benjamin Kalu while receiving this special gift with gratitude appreciated the US Commander Kelechi Ndukwe and his Father who deemed him fit for such honour. The member highlighted that the Stakeholder has been a major support to him since his resumption into office, he emphasized that he has supported him with words of encouragement, advice and many other ways and he will always show his gratitude by making him proud.
Rep. Kalu assured Chief Ndukwe and others present at the meeting that he is not relenting in his commitment to transform Bende Federal Constituency. While listing the ongoing and completed projects in Item, hr promised to look into more issues and see that they are solved once he goes back to the House.
