The Oha Abia Political Movement today endorsed the Member representing Bende Federal Constituency Rep. Benjamin Kalu as the Consensus candidate of the Association for the House of Representatives election in Bende Federal Constituency.

The Association which is made up of over 5000 members with branches all over the State made this known as they paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Member at his country home in Agbamuzu Bende. According to the Secretary who introduced the delegation, the association has its stronghold in the Old Bende region of the State and has over the years been significantly involved in elections in the region.

Speaking at the gathering the Bende coordinator, Mazi Ibeabuchi Kalu who addressed Rep. Benjamin Kalu as the ‘Cicero of Bende’ and the Voice of the Voiceless for his pragmatic representation and taking responsibility for every part of Bende thanked the Honorable Member for the numerous projects he has facilitated in the nooks and crannies of Bende adding that the things that seemed impossible in 12 years have been made possible in just 3 years and a few months.

Mr. Uche Ibekwe who also spoke on behalf of the association appreciated Rep. Benjamin Kalu for his excellent representation which is evident in his numerous projects. He further stressed that Bende Fed. Constituency has passed the era of party politics and will focus on the individual who has delivered quality representation through their works He added that Rep. Benjamin Kalu has surpassed all expectations without leaving out any of the 13 wards of Bende Federal Constituency. He encouraged the representative to continue with the good things hoping that someday he will come here and address him as His Excellency.

The president of the group Hon. Iheanyi Uta (JP) also speaking at the gathering emphasized that the association has been functional since 2015 and has always adopted candidates irrespective of his/her political party, adding that through his representation he has earned their support to continue in his good works for the people of Bende. He stated that he has also made his own research and has been opportune to visit some projects facilitated by the Honourable member so far and that spurred the decision and movement of today.

In his response, Rep. Benjamin Kalu expressed gratitude to them for coming from different parts of the State to pay him this visit, he commended them for their active participation in democracy, taking their time to run a background check on different candidates before adoption adding that this is the ideal way to select candidates who will lead at various levels of governance. He assured them that their partnership with the Ben Kalu Movement is one that will yield multiple fruits for the growth and development of Bende Federal Constituency.He thanked them for their support promising to work with them beyond the elections.
