The Abia State Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, High Chief Ikechi Emenike has stated that he will work with all the Candidates of the Party at various levels except the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial Zone, Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu.
The Abia Gubernatorial Candidate stated this at a meeting he called on Saturday the 8th October, 2022 at his country home to strengthen the political party in the state, which was attended by House of Assembly Candidates, he openly commended all the stakeholders in different parts of the state for the job they are doing and pledged to work closely with all to achieve the ambition of the party in Abia state.
In his speech which was documented by the Party Secretariat, he stated that the only person he will not work with due to his unreliable approach to issues of APC is Senator Orji Kalu, who has candidates in every party placed against APC strong candidates in every position including the gubernatorial position. He went on to state that he has candidates he funded in Apga against his party APC, hobnobs with PDP against APC even after his attempt with his brother to provide the Deputy Governorship Candidate for Abia State PDP failed, he secured APP to actualise his personal dream of taking back Abia State government house to his family again.
Not excluding Labour Party where the candidates brag that they were brought out by him? It is alleged that all members of APC in his ward have been asked to join another party, it has also been alleged that he accepted those from other political parties accepting to work for him but against other political party candidates including the Presidential candidate. In fact he has a design of a poster circulated with him and all the candidates of Labour Party including their presidential candidate. He said:
“It has become public knowledge that he is funding multiple parties in Abia State. It is alleged that most of the court cases against my candidacy were funded through the back door by him.
Orji kalu who never believed in Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu to run for presidency is now desperately looking for a way to sell a dummy to the presidential candidate so as to be the co Cordinator for him in Abia state to enable him divert the resources to his blood brother’s ambition for Governorship. Orji kalu is directly and indirectly after every member of the party standing on the part of truth. Ask him if he is not fighting the members of the National Assembly with us. He is fighting Hon Nkiruka Onyejiocha the chief whip of the house of reps, he is fighting Hon Benjamin Kalu, the spokesperson of the house of reps, he is fighting Hon Emeka Okorafor member representing Umunneochi state constituency, Hon chijioke Chukwu the minority leader in the house of assembly and the Member representing Bende North State constituency, what of the Member representing Arochukwu Constituency, Hon Ukoha? These ones refused to play APC in the day and APP or Labour or Apga or PDP at night like him. Is that the person I will work with?
Senator Orji Kalu has integrity baggage and totally unreliable and should never be trusted and I won’t trust him with any thing in the coming elections.
See the way he is busy sponsoring smear campaigns around town on our prominent candidates who refused to do his bid with his soft blogs always littering the media space with junks with the aim of assassinating characters and it is funny he thinks we do not know his antics. Same style he has used from 1999 till date, why won’t we recognise his finger prints? You can’t commit serious matter into the hand of a fellow whose attention is to write junks and copy the links to share among stake holders with the aim of killing the political careers of others, I will not work with him after the presidential election or the Guber election.
He further stressed that any candidate who wants to work with him is welcomed but will not work with Senator Orji Kalu while any one who wants to work with Senator Orji Kalu should follow him to his or her failure because he is a disaster to Abia APC which he has played major role in a struggle to damage the works of the party here due to his greedy quest to be the Senate President has made him ready to sacrifice every one in APC to be the only cock that crows so that there will be no option from igbo land but him. A selfish approach to leadership which has been his style. He can sell his entire community Igbere, to have his family stand while others serve him as slaves, he should know that that era has expired and let him run from pillar to post in desperation to be relevant, the petition before the National Secretariat is for him to address fully and comply with the party resolutions who have nailed him on anti party activities. He further added;
So even if Abia North is presenting a Gubernatorial Candidate, it must be a blood brother of Sen. Orji Kalu because there are no competent ones from any other womb in Abia North?
Work with me we will deliver Abia and this is a promise and I will be doing that without Orji kalu same way I delivered all of you in your primaries without his input . He will soon realise that the glory has departed and the departure was powered by greed.
One of the Candidates present at the meeting(name withheld) while reacting to the speech added :
“OUK’s interest is still for a Northerner to be the president now not out of love for the North but so that when it comes to the south he will stand a chance to run for the number one office. As it is alleged that he does not want Tinubu to take the Southern slot. With Orji Kalu it must be him or his or no body else at all times. Now you know why he has his PDP agenda close to his chest.
