FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

OCTOBER 5, 2022

Happy World Teachers Day.

Today, I join the world to celebrate teachers in Bende Federal Constituency, Nigeria, and across the globe. The teaching profession is one that is fundamental to society and Teachers’ Day provides us with an opportune occasion to reflect on the value of teachers and thank them for their wonderful work.  This is also an occasion for us to renew our commitment to work alongside our teachers in order to achieve the goals of our education system.

Teaching goes beyond transferring knowledge, teaching is about molding lives, a truly divine and rewarding profession. In their daily lives, the men and women who teach our children fulfill the promise of a nation that’s always looking forward, that believes each generation has a responsibility to help the next in building this great country of ours and making the world a better place.

As we celebrate World Teachers day, I urge all teachers to remain steadfast in this call of service, irrespective of the various challenges they encounter. The House of Representatives in its firm belief in the importance of our teachers in an effective education system remains committed to seeking a resolution for the demands of our University Lecturers as we hope for an end to the ongoing ASUU Strike.

To the teachers in educational Institutions of Bende Federal Constituency, I celebrate you immensely. This is a special appreciation for the work you do in raising exceptional students who meet global standards. Your selflessness and hard work are acknowledged and will be rewarded in due time. I implore you to remain dedicated to raising leaders that will make our nation and the world a better place.

Signed,

Rep. Benjamin Kalu
