He wrote;

AUGUST 12, 2022

For Immediate Release

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY TO INDEFATIGABLE NIGERIAN YOUTHS

I felicitate with the youths of Bende Federal Constituency, Nigeria and across the world  today August 12th, 2022, being the International Youth Day,  commemorated annually as part of the United Nations resolution to appreciate the contribution of young people in our society.

The youth in their role as leaders of culture and innovation, represent the future of our country, and undoubtedly contribute significantly to its development and sustainability.

In the face of countless challenges and uncertainties that threaten to subsume their potentials, Nigerian Youths have remained dogged, purposeful and resilient enough to achieve their greatest potentials whilst transforming their various communities and the world at large.

I am immensely proud of Nigerian Youths for constantly reaching for the stars in their respective fields, bringing great pride to the nation with their global exploits in sports, entertainment, academics and other sectors. My belief in the future of the Nigerian Youth is a major reason I have sponsored the bill for the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Bank in Nigeria which will provide much-needed access to capital for young entrepreneurs to scale their businesses amongst others, for which I am being recognized today by the National Youth Council of Nigeria as the Best Legislator in the Promotion of Youth Affairs/Enterprise.

I wish to seize this opportunity to encourage young Nigerians who make up about 70% of our entire population to continue to participate more in leadership and governance especially as we prepare for the forthcoming elections to ensure that the Not-too-young-to-run bill stays alive in our political space just as they have raised the bar for the first time in the just concluded Continuous Voters Registration exercise.

On this special day, I encourage all youths to remain positive, full of hope and energy as they stay productive and self-reliant in their quest for greatness as I remain committed to providing quality leadership that will improve the life and opportunities not just for Youths of Bende Federal Constituency but also across the country.

Signed

Rep. Benjamin Kalu

Spokesperson, House of Representatives

Member, Bende Fed. Constituency
