It was an evening of glitz and glamor as the National Union of Journalists honoured Rep. Benjamin Kalu with the award as a ‘Model of Media and Public Relation Matters’ in an Award night which held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Thursday, 24th March, 2022.

The award which was in recognition of his outstanding work as Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs as well as the Spokesperson of the 9th House of Representatives was presented to him by the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Al Hassan Ado-Doguma.

Rep. Kalu while receiving the award appreciated the National Union of Journalists for this recognition stated that this is an encouragement to do more rape in the media. He commended the National Union of Journalists for the work they put in to promote the ethos of our democracy as a nation through the press, praying that as a body they will continue to do much greater things.

Other Awardees at the event include; Senate President, His Excellency Sen. Ahmad Lawal, Rt. Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Deputy Senate President, Sen. Obasiri Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, Sen. Smart Adeyemi,  Hon. Abubakar Kabir, Chairman House Committee on Works, Hon. Sam Onuigbo, Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency, Abia State, amongst other members of the National Assembly.
