Rep. Benjamin Kalu has wished Governor Okezie Ikpeazu a speedy recovery following news that the Abia State governor tested positive to Covid-19.

In his message, the member representing Bende Federal Constituency, thanked the governor on behalf of his constituency, for his sacrifice and diligence in ensuring the health and safety of Abians during this pandemic.

His message is reproduced below:

BENDE FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY WISHES GOVERNOR OKEZIE IKPEAZU A SPEEDY RECOVERY

For myself and on behalf of the good people of Bende Federal Constituency, I wish a speedy recovery to His Excellency Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as he undergoes treatment for the Covid-19 virus.

Abia State has, since the onset of this pandemic, stood out in the news cycle for its proactive public health policies and exemplary success in the fight against coronavirus. This is due, in no small measure, to the diligence of our dear Governor. The people of Bende do not take this lightly, and appreciate his sacrifices and the risks embraced venturing to the frontlines for the health and safety of the people of Abia State.

I therefore, seize this opportunity to call on all sons and daughters of Bende at home and in diaspora to raise fervent prayers to the Almighty God for the speedy recovery of the Governor.

The Executive Governor is also assured of the prayers and support of the people of Bende Federal Constituency, as he personally battles the virus, that he will emerge stronger and in good health.

Long live the Executive Governor of Abia State, long live the people of Abia State and long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Signed
Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu
Spokesperson, House of Representatives,
Member representing Bende Federal Constituency
