Military officers have intercepted a bus load of armed thugs allegedly procured by Chima Anyaso in Bende.
The officers acting on intelligence provided by locals, stopped and searched vehicles at the military checkpoint just before the Local Government office and apprehended the armed thugs led by the notorious bandit and PDP thug known by the street name, Onyeute.
The notoriety of the PDP thug is partly attributed to his use of violence and threats in his campaign for Chima Anyaso in Bende.
Drum Africa News was on site to interview the suspects but was informed by the military personnel that no interviews would be granted at this time.
Onyeute and the other thugs have confessed to working for Chima Anyaso and are now being transferred to the Military base in Ohafia.
This is the latest in a series of interceptions and apprehension of armed PDP thugs around Bende.
