A former National Vice-Chairperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East, Fidelis Chukwu, has been named the new President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization. Fidelis Chukwu Mr. Chukwu succeeds Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the immediate past President-General of the group, who passed away on July 25, 2024, after a prolonged illness. Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has granted N500m bail to the immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, in an alleged N80.2bn money-laundering suit.
