The Imo State Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment Hon. Barr. Rex Anunobi has called on traders at the Imo Modern Cluster International Market, Naze, in Owerri North Local Government Area, to embrace peace, support government efforts, and comply with all market regulations. On Thursday, the Naira depreciated to N1,410 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,405 per dollar on Wednesday. Similarly, the naira depreciated to N1,365.5 per dollar in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market, NFEM . Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, showed that the indicative exchange rate for the market rose to N1,365.5 per dollar from N1,361.5 per dollar on Wednesday, indicating N4 depreciation for the naira. Chief Chekwas Okorie, founder of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has called on the Senate Committee overseeing the South East Development Commission to allow the Commission’s management sufficient time and space to carry out its developmental mandate. West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has reportedly deregistered Ohabuike Secondary School, Ndibe-Afikpo, in Ebonyi State. According to available information, the action came over concerns that the school is deteriorating infrastructural wise. There is also reports of the absence of functional science laboratory facilities required for effective teaching and examination standards.
