It was a day filled with celebration and gratitude as the entire Item Community felt strongly the impact Rep. Benjamin Kalu’s representation as he Commissioned several completed projects on Saturday March 12, 2022.
The projects which include; a block of 3 Classrooms at Item High School, Amaokwe, block of 3 classrooms in Amaekpu Community Primary School and the largest of it which is a block 6 classrooms at Apuañu Community Primary School, all in Item, Bende Federal Constituency.
In a welcome address, the President General of Item Development Union, Chief Ogba Nwokolo who accompanied the Representative to commission the classroom blocks in the three different schools, expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire community, stating that the lawmaker has distinguished himself in Item. He described his achievements within the last two and half years as remarkable adding that amongst the there representatives who had represented Bende Federal Constituency in the past, none can match his scorecard.
He encouraged the Representative to continue with his effective representation, as he continues to deliver the dividends of democracy to the entire Bende Federal Constituency, adding that the Item people will always show gratitude. Chief Nwokolo further assured the lawmaker of the support of the Item Community anytime it is needed, adding that what was done in 2019 will be doubled in 2023.
He prayed for God’s guidance and protection as he continues to work for the people.
Rep. Benjamin Kalu in his response mentioned that he is always glad to be with the people of Item community, highlighting that their unwavering support to his administration has remained unshaken. He recalled that Item did not just give him the highest votes during the elections but also showed him great love, and for this reason, he will remain grateful to them.
In his words;
‘It is impossible not to work for the Item Community, nothing is too much or too big for Item people and I will continue to do more for the overwhelming love and support you showered on me’
He promised the people of a Health Centre and an Agro-processing factory that will be attracted to the community.
Rep. Kalu assured them that the classes will also be furnished with desks for the pupils, while commissioning the schools at the three different locations, the member prayed that the various institutions will produce great men and women who will be a wonder to the Item Community and Bende Federal Constituency at large.
