BENDE SECURITY ALERT: Rep. Benjamin Kalu issues warning to mischief makers as Bende Youth Community Policing Commanders receive security briefing

Following reports of a conspiracy by mischief makers to perpetrate criminal activities in Bende under the guise of protests, leaders of Bende, including Rep. Benjamin Kalu have cautioned criminal elements that all security agencies including local vigilantes have been alerted of the conspiracies and are prepared to maintain the peace in Bende LGA.

His statement comes following a security briefing of Batch A of the Bende youth community policing Commanders this morning. He said,

“No part of the Bende federal constituency will be available for any intruder in the name of #ENDSARS PROTEST which has ended. The real messengers have gone home, the fake ones are on the streets for their pockets. Bende Youths are awake. Please don’t dare step into Bende to disturb our peace.”

Rep. Benjamin Kalu also released a statement suing for peace and respect of all laws.

    Read the message below:

    BENDE SECURITY ALERT: YOUTH AWAKE

We have gotten the information that there are strangers planning to come into Bende tomorrow to cause problems. We know you are not the youths for the #ENDSARS protest. The real protesters have gone home, it is risky to remain on the street. We have SUFFICIENT intelligence on you and your team.

We humbly ask you not to attempt it as you all will be treated as armed robbers with the intention to steal and destroy properties including the police station etc.

My advice is that you should not come since all the security agencies have been alerted, the youths of Bende (you should ask about them before dreaming of entering Bende) will not be nice. Feel free to ask those who know them.  To use this protest as an excuse to hurt anybody must be adequately rejected. PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF BENDE, Bende people are not protesting now, please go home. We do not have properties to destroy either. We are still trying to rebuild those destroyed by the civil war and cannot afford to watch you destroy more. This is my gentle appeal both as the representative of Bende and as a youth as well. Bende Youths shall protect all that belongs to us and our people, Government and private.

    CHIEF BENJAMIN O KALU
OCHI AGHA 1 OF ISIALA BENDE
