The Kano State Government land recertification deadline of 31st January 2025, has been described as sacrosanct as the Land Ministry and Physical Planning reveals it has now recertified over 2000 lands since the beginning of the process in 2024.
Giving an update to newsmen on Friday, on the recertification exercise, the State Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Mr Abduljabar Muhammad Umar, said there was no going back on the deadline.
Umar explained, that since the beginning of the recertification, the ministry has witnessed over one million activities of land owners coming for forms, registration and other recertification needed verification.
He warned that land owners who refuse to come forward for certificates, risk losing their lands at the end of the exercise on 31st of January.
“We have given ampule opportunity for the recertification of the land titles, this is because of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, believes in doing things that serves the interests of Kano people and the deadline was given to allow everybody fully aware of the exercise”.
Umar noted that after the completion of the recertification exercises by the end of January 2025, the Ministry will commence the certification of Houses, Shops and Farm Lands, asking owners of such properties to take the benefits of the exercise for their own goods.
The Land Commissioner, assured that from now to the end of the deadline officials of the ministry will attend to everyone that comes to renew their land titles.
