The Member representing Bende Federal Constituency who doubles as the spokesperson of the house has expressed gratitude to the people of Bende Federal Constituency for their love and support for a successful two years in office.

The representative in a statement released today June 11th, 2021 acknowledged that today marks the day he was sworn into office to represent the good people of Bende Federal constituency. He mentioned that regardless of the challenges he has experienced while in office, he has ensured that the people of Bende have felt the dividends of democracy as this was not the case in past years. He wrote:

‘It has been an absolute honour to represent the people of Bende at the 9th House of Representatives, even as I double as the spokesperson of the House. A feat that I was able to achieve irrespective of being a first-time legislator. With your support these past two years, I have been able to create an impact that has not been experienced in Bende Federal Constituency since the 4th republic. In discharging my duties as a legislator and representative, I have sponsored over 40 bills on the floor of the House and moved about 17 motions to the growth and development of our constituency, state, and the nation at large. Additionally, within two years in office, I have attracted over 42 federal projects to the consistency, including a solar mini-grid project, construction of Etitiulo-Itumbuzo road, rehabilitation of Bende-Ohafia Road, rehabilitation of 21km Bende-Itumbuzo-Etitiulor Road, the establishment of the immigration office in Bende, renovation of schools such as Girls’ Secondary School Uzuakoli, Okai Item Community school, Onuibina primary School and so many more projects too numerous to mention here. ‘

He pledged to always have in mind the responsibility of leadership by service and reiterated his commitment to do more for the people of Bende. While the leaders, traditional rulers, indigenes, and other stakeholders for their support so far and urged them to continue putting the movement in their prayers as he continues the journey of economic emancipation of Bende Federal constituency.

    June 11, 2021

    My Dear People of Bende,

THANK YOU, NDI BENDE FOR A SUCCESSFUL TWO YEARS IN OFFICE

Today marks exactly two years since you honoured me with the mantle of leadership and following which I swore the oath to represent and serve the good people of Bende Federal Constituency. Despite the challenges of the pandemic in the past year and other judicial distractions, I have remained focused and committed to delivering the promises which I made to you during my election campaign.

It has been an absolute honour to represent the people of Bende at the 9th House of Representatives, even as I double as the spokesperson of the House.

I continue to hold dear, the democratic ethos of accountability and transparency, wherefore I have comprehensively published the projects, bills, motions, and other legislative achievements I have championed in various media, including my updated website, www.benjaminkalu.com.

As we prepare to celebrate democracy day tomorrow, June 12, 2020, I am reminded of this solemn responsibility I bear to represent the good people of Bende as a position of leadership by service and I remain resolute in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people as well as my commitment to the economic emancipation of Bende.

I am particularly grateful to the leaders, traditional rulers, indigenes, and other stakeholders of Bende Federal Constituency without whose love and unwavering support, I would not have been able to achieve these things. I encourage you to keep this movement in your prayers as we continue to bring joy to our constituency.

I assure you that there is more to come.

May God continue to bless us all.

    Signed,

    Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu

    Spokesperson, House of Representatives

    Member, Bende Federal Constituency
