It was yet another day filled with several emotions from children, parents and teachers of primary schools in Bende as the member representing Bende Federal Constituency, Rep. Benjamin Kalu commenced distribution of classroom desks and chairs from the Universal Basic Education Commission to primary schools across all 13 wards.
While distributing the desks, the representative recalled his days in primary school, and how they were subjected to sit on the floor to learn as a result of lack of seats in the school, sadly this is still the case in most schools till now, he stated that this is the reason he has ensured that these seats were brought, adding that this will also inspire the pupils to learn.
Rep. Kalu highlighted that he has also come to look out for other needs of the schools and work towards possible solutions within his capacity, reiterating that education is very important to him as it is a major point in his blueprint and he is committed to ensuring that the children learn in a conducive environment. He added that this is important for knowledge assimilation.
The community members who were filled with gratitude for this gesture prayed for the almighty God to continue to strengthen him in all his endeavors and for more success through his administration.
