Ibrahim Usman Ibrahim, the Special Assistant on Political Mobilisation to Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has stepped down from his position.
His resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government and dated. In the letter, Ibrahim explained that his decision was a personal one, aimed at creating more time to concentrate on his private business engagements and other commitments outside government.
While announcing his exit, Ibrahim expressed appreciation to Governor Namadi for giving him the platform to serve the state in a political capacity. He described the period as an enriching experience and pledged to remain loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC), both at the state and national levels.
“I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence His Excellency reposed in me. Serving this administration has been a great honour, but I believe this is the right time for me to redirect my energy to other endeavours,” he said in the letter.
Ibrahim, however, made it clear that his resignation does not signal a break from partisan politics, stressing that he would continue to contribute to the growth of the APC in Jigawa and beyond.
His resignation comes just weeks after Governor Namadi relieved his Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters of his duties, sparking conversations around the subtle reshuffling of the governor’s team as his administration approaches its second year in office.
