[OPINION] Rep. Benjamin Kalu: The Trajectory of responsive and responsible leaders in the democratic space

The electronic, print and online media is awash with campaign slogans, posters, bills and write-ups,  by the supporters, constituents, political jobbers, sycophants, and hangers-on of desperate politicians.

These people unapologetically invaded our privacies,  inundating us with lies and often offensive materials, all in desperate attempts to sell to us, their bread-winning  candidates, most of whom only visualize their portraits in the country’s currency notes, which may be the only motivating factor in their quest for political office.

Any keen observer of the political landscape in Nigeria would’ve noticed the restiveness among the electorates that which often  precedes mass democratic shifts in the tectonic plates of the Nations foundational leadership crust.

The deafening aftershock of the repeated leadership failure had inadvertently jolted the people out of their self-pity only to be confronted by the only available option out of their reverie………..the golden opportunity once again to choose their leaders…… carefully.

While a greater number of our politicians got carried away by the masturbatory rewards of institutional/ leadership failures, the reverse is the case of one of the Nation’s most recognizably vocal and outstanding leader,  Hon. BENJAMIN OKEZIE KALU, the Spokesperson of the Green Chamber and  member representing Bende Federal Constituency.

Hon Benjamin Okezie Kalu, is on a mission to demystify the shroud of leadership and present same to his people as commonly perfect as would fit their expectations by meeting them at the exact point of their needs.

Hon. Benjamin started by establishing a seamless communication with his people by making himself readily available as an attentive listener to their yearnings.

Benjamin Kalu built a service delivery rural structure through which he collated info and also identified avenues through which he could impact his constituents positively.

His weekly tours of his constituency, afforded him personal on-the-spot assessment of the  socio-economic, security, health and ecological challenges of his constituency.

And now the result of his noble strides today, is glaring for all to behold.

Bende Federal Constituency, ably represented by Hon. BENJAMIN OKEZIE KALU, has in the last three years, witnessed unprecedented transformation, courtesy of the developmental strides of Utabiri Bende.

The result is better seen than heard.

Benjamin’s positive impact and quality service/ leadership delivery, identifies him as one of the most notable revelations in the emerging political landscape,  forged out of decades long struggle by the people for good governance.

The just concluded Voter Registration and Revalidation exercise witnessed unprecedented turn out by eligible voters eager to dethrone the corrupt and irresponsible establishment through the ballot.

Leaders like Hon. Benjamin Kalu who have proven their electoral mettle to their constituents would only be saddled with more responsibility come 2023 when his people is surely expected to express their choice by voting  massively for him to represent them for another glorious four term.

    To be continued…..
