    PRESS RELEASE

      March 2, 2022

LIBELLOUS PUBLICATION AGAINST REP. BENJAMIN KALU BY ONE MR. PROMISE UZOMA OKORO

Our attention has been drawn to the unscrupulous allegations making rounds on social media by one Mr. Promise Uzoma Okoro (PUO) on his Facebook page with the name and picture of Rep. Benjamin Kalu, Member representing Bende Federal Constituency over the recent fire incident at the home of the late father of Hon. Nnenna Ukeje at Alayi, Bende L.G.A on the 1st of March 2022, designed with the intention to mislead the general public.

While the Representative vehemently condemns this act of violence and sympathises with the family of the Ukejes, Rep. Kalu wishes to reiterate that politics of rancour and bitterness has never been a route to take through his journey in leadership. Recounting from the year 2001/2002 when he ran against Hon. Mba Ajah to 2011 and 2015 when he ran against Hon. Nnenna Ukeje through to 2019 running against Mr. Chima Anyaso, he has never imployed any form of violence in the pursuit of his political ambition and will not start now or anytime soon. A man who refused twice to contest the victories of Hon Nnenna Ukeje despite all pressures will never show any form of desperation in politics.

Rep. Benjamin Kalu has championed politics of development and an ambition anchored on service to humanity and God, this is why the development of Bende Federal Constituency will continue to be his priority over personal interest despite the numerous unwarranted distractions from all quarters of the opposition.

Given the grave unsubstantiated accusations made by Mr. Promise Uzoma Okoro, Vincent Ihendu, Obike Kanu and co-travellers, we are currently consulting with our legal team who have reached out to the security agencies for a thorough investigation and possible legal actions if the need arises. The right steps must be taken to discourage, especially in the minds of youths this despicable style of politics as this is the umpteenth time that attempts have been made to bring his image to disrepute through varieties of falsehood, misinformation and unverified information mainly on the social media space by these unrepentant blackmailers.

Security investigations will reveal our next line of action, as Rep. Kalu has promised to bring all perpetrators of this evil act to book to face the legal consequences of their actions.

Rep. Benjamin Kalu urges all constituents of Bende and supporters across the state and the globe to disregard this criminal defamatory information and remain calm at this time, as we allow the specific agencies carry out their investigations. Rep. Kalu is resolute in delivering the mandate of the people and will not be distracted by the antics of detractors in any form or shape they fashion it.

May God continue to bless the good people of Bende Federal Constituency, Abia State and Nigeria .

    Signed

    Onyinyechi Ojiaku
Special Adviser on Media and Communications
    To
    Hon. Benjamin Kalu
