House Spokesperson and Member representing Bende Federal Constituency, Rep. Benjamin Kalu, on Monday, revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The revalidation exercise was carried out at the Agbamuzu Hall, Bende Town, in Bende LGA of Abia State and was witnessed by the Abia APC National Registration and Revalidation committee, chaired by Ambassador Bala Mohammed Maigairi among other party leaders and stakeholders in the state.
Speaking after revalidating his membership of APC, Rep. Benjamin Kalu commended the party leadership for their commitment to this exercise, seizing the opportunity to call on Bende indigenes across the various wards to join the exercise.
Rep. Kalu also lamented the scarcity of the registration and revalidation materials in Bende Local Government Area of the State. He urged the party leadership to provide enough materials to accommodate the large population of Bende.
According to him
“the materials for the registration exercise in Bende are very small, the people who want to register and revalidate their membership in Bende are far larger in number than the materials at hand.
“I want to seize this opportunity to call on all the party leaders to provide more materials for Nigerians across their wards, this will help millions of Nigerians who seek to join the progressives train to do so.”
Rep Kalu thanked the party leadership in Abia State for the internal peace in the party.
Rep. Kalu also played host to Abia APC National Registration and Revalidation Committee Chair, Amb. Bala Mohammed Maigairi at his country home in Bende. Speaking at the revalidation exercise, Amb Maigari stated that he was impressed with the peaceful and calm atmosphere of Bende. Congratulating Rep. Kalu and other community leaders for maintaining the peace in Bende, he remarked that he felt quite at home in Bende even though he was a first-time visitor. He also commended Rep. Kalu for his performance on the national stage of the House as well as on the home front in his constituency adding that he was convinced that Rep. Kalu would occupy greater leadership positions in the near future.
While responding the chairman of the event, Amb Maigari said he was impressed with how much the people of Bende appreciate APC and how well rooted in grass root politics the honourable member is. He was happy to see the impact the party is making in the federal constituency and wished the constituents well with more from democracy if they keep actively participating like he has seen in them.
