The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice President Kashim Shettima, on the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.
The Deputy Speaker also rejoiced with Nigerians, particularly the parents and relatives of the victims, over the heartwarming development.
Statement by Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, revealed that security forces successfully rescued the pupils and their teachers unhurt on Friday.
Reacting on Saturday, the Deputy Speaker said President Tinubu has fulfilled his promise of not resting on his oars until the abducted children were returned safely, and commended the administration for living up to its word.
In the same statement, Kalu also commended the Oyo State government for collaborating with the federal government in the rescue mission.
He applauded the gallant security forces for the successful operation, applauding their patriotism and the deployment of high-level intelligence and skills that produced the tangible results.
He equally commiserated with the family of the teacher who lost his life, and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.
Kalu added that the National Assembly remains committed to working with other arms of government to strengthen national security and ensure the safety of citizens at all times.
