Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, CFR has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, describing him as a leader whose legacy extended beyond infrastructure development.

Speaking during a Valedictory Session of the House of Representatives for the late President on Wednesday, Kalu alongside his colleagues eulogized Buhari, saying he was an embodiment of integrity.

The Deputy Speaker also highlighted Buhari’s diligence, discipline, and selflessness as qualities that have left a lasting impact on Nigerians, regardless of their background.

Kalu prayed for the continued repose of Buhari’s soul.

He said: “I have seen a leader loved by his people and a prophet with honour in his home town. No doubt, President Buhari left a bit of him in all of us irrespective of where you come from in Nigeria.

“We have a little bit of President Buhari in all of us especially when it comes to diligence, intergrity, discipline and selflessness, and that is what he has left for Nigeria, a legacy that is beyond infrastructure, beyond all the political talks.

“We saw him speak it and live it and, we as the coming generation have decided to copy those virtues that made him a great a man that we are all proud of, both locally and globally, and again, we say, may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
