Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has commended the Dunamis International Gospel Centre for conducting what he described as a “quintessential evangelism” during its recent crusade at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, without obstructing public movement or causing inconvenience to road users.

Impressed by the orderliness of the event, Soludo announced a refund of the fees paid by the church for the use of the venue and invited the church, led by Pastor Paul Enenche, to hold future programmes at the location.

The governor also disclosed that Ekwueme Square and its environs would undergo a major facelift in the coming months, with improved lighting and beautification, in line with Anambra’s identity as “The Light of the Nation.”

In a statement issued on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, the governor urged the church to intensify prayers for the spiritual renewal of the state and support the government’s efforts in rebuilding moral values among the youths.

The statement read in part, “Our people are known for hard work and innovation, not for kidnapping, internet fraud, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. We must collectively redirect the minds of our youths towards productivity and positive impact.

“We commend Pastor Enenche for preaching messages that promote righteousness and godly living. This will help reshape the minds of young people and contribute to building a safer and more prosperous Anambra State.”

The governor’s gesture has been widely applauded by religious leaders and the Christian community as a move to strengthen the relationship between the government and the church in promoting societal transformation.

Earlier, before the governor’s remarks, Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, delivered a sermon titled Serving the God of the Blessing.

The event, which drew thousands of worshippers seeking divine intervention, featured intense worship, testimonies of healing, and prophetic declarations.

In his sermon, Pastor Enenche emphasized that God’s plan has always been to bless His people, citing biblical references to Adam and Noah.

As the crusade continues, Pastor Enenche is expected to lead prayers for individuals, families, and the state, declaring divine blessings upon Anambra and its people.
