FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AUGUST 27, 2022
HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSARY TO ALL ABIANS
I felicitate with all Abians in the state and in diaspora as we celebrate the 31st anniversary since the creation of our dear state.
Abia State remains our collective pride, and the development of the state continues to be a top priority for all of our people, despite any unprecedented obstacles that may have faced us as a state at various points. Today, with unity of purpose, we reflect on both our achievements and disappointments in this journey of growth.
I applaud the Governor, His Excellency Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for his efforts to advance the state through a number of projects more especially working with his economic planning department in publishing a 30-year long term road map for the development of the state, a means to ensure smooth transition and sustainability. While I also commend efforts thus far in keeping the State peaceful, I urge the government to work closely with security agencies for better protection of lives and properties of Abians.
As I have always maintained, governance is not a sole responsibility of the government alone but requires the cooperation of all citizens, young and old. I urge all Abians to support their leaders at all levels as we commemorate this day.
Once again, on behalf of Bende Federal Constituency, I congratulate all Abians on this 31st anniversary as we continue to strive to take our state to greater heights, we pray for the peace of the land and leaders who will lead in the fear of God and righteousness.
Signed,
Rep. Benjamin Kalu
Spokesperson, House of Representatives
