Benjamin Kalu, member elect to represent Bende Federal Constituency in the 9th House of Representatives, has called for an increase in political will to fight the scourge of tuberculosis (TB).

In a message at a Children’s Day event organized by an advocacy group against TB, he expressed his concerns that TB in Nigeria is currently claiming more lives than HIV and BokoHaram activities.

He pledged to advocate in the National Assembly for increased government attention to TB. He also expressed his commitment to attracting the establishment of a Centre for Disease Control in his constituency, Bende.
