The Abia State Police Command said it has successfully reunited a six-year-old child, found in Aba, Abia State, with his family from Akwa Ibom State.

Abia police said that operatives of its Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while on patrol around Brass Junction, on 25/09/2026, along the Aba–Owerri Road Aba, found the six-year-old child, who identified himself as being from Itam, Akwa Ibom State.

Leveraging actionable intelligence, the Command commenced efforts to trace the child’s family.

These efforts according to the police yielded positive results, and yesterday, 05/10/2026, the child was successfully reunited with his family after the necessary verification established their relationship.

The Abia State Police Command reiterates its commitment to protecting the lives and property of residents and ensuring the safety and well-being of children within the State.

The Command also encourages members of the public to promptly report cases of missing or found children to the nearest Police Station or contact the Police through the appropriate emergency channels, as timely information remains crucial in ensuring their safety and reunification with their families.
