The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Senator Patrick Ndubueze remains its candidate for the Okigwe Zone (Imo North) Senatorial election.
The party said that it has to speak out because it has observed a renewed trend of misinformation campaigns especially as it affects the long concluded Okigwe Senatorial District Nomination process.
A statement signed by Onwuasoanya FCC Jones, state Publicity Secretary, the State Working Committee of the Party affirms that the nomination process for all legislative constituencies has been concluded, peacefully, and the names of all the standard bearers elected by Party members have been cleared and accepted by the National Working Committee of the Party, which, has in turn, submitted these candidates’ names and credentials to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to Onwuasoanya, Senator Patrick Chiwuba Ndubueze is the All Progressives Congress standard bearer for the Okigwe Senatorial District.
He said that that the Party in the State is not aware of any ongoing litigation and or petition, challenging the nomination of Senator Patrick Ndubueze as the standard bearer of our Party.
“The Party wishes to reiterate that Senator Ndubueze is duly qualified, competent, experienced and remains the most acceptable candidate for the Imo North Senatorial District and we have absolute confidence in his ability to win the election for our Party.
“All Party leaders, especially, aspirants who participated in the last primary election of the Party are encouraged to fully align with Distinguished Senator Patrick Ndubueze to ensure a smooth and overwhelming victory for our Party in the general elections.
“The Party remains grateful to our teeming Party members for their unwavering loyalty and support to the Party and all of its candidates.”
