Trash Recycling Technology has emerged as the winner of the 2026 Pitchathon organised as part of The Gathering On 100 event sponsored by MTN Nigeria in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, which is worth ₦2.5 million.
Our correspondent reports that in the Aba edition of MTN’s youth cultural and lifestyle event “The Gathering”, which was held at the Prime Event Centre, Osisioma Aba, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, a ₦5 million prize was shared among the first, second and third positions, as ₦2.5 million was given to the first position, ₦1.5 million was given to the second, and the third position received ₦1 million.
While U.D. Trend Global Limited won the second position prize, which is worth ₦1.5 million, Yadah Food Limited won the third prize, worth ₦1 million, in the event the organisers said came with a high-stakes Pitchathon designed to spotlight and reward the most promising early-stage founders in Aba.
Recall that from April 22 to 26, The Gathering brought young Nigerians from diverse backgrounds together for the maiden edition of the 2026 Pitchathon organised as part of The Gathering On 100 event sponsored by MTN Nigeria at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
Speaking after the announcement of the winners, Mr Charles Ikechukwu, the chief executive officer of Trash Ricycling Technology Limited, thanked the organisers and described the gift as a great one.
He said, “It will enable them to make more impact in society, and as such, it will give them a lift to continue what they are doing.
Ikechukwu urged the youths to keep looking for solutions that will solve the problem bedevelling the society.
In her vote of thanks, Miss Onyebuchi Ukwuegbo from MTN congratulated the winners and urged them to keep pushing higher and ensure they lifted others.
