The Imo State Government through the Ministry of Digital Economy & E-Government and the Ministry of Education (Primary & Secondary) have launched a brand new website where people can now check their First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) result and download their certificate from home – anytime, day or night.

This move has just made life much easier for anyone who needs their First School Leaving Certificate; that all-important document people get after finishing primary school, which thr need for job applications, secondary school admission, or even travelling abroad.

DrumAfricanews reports that to tackle the decades of problem of collecting FSLC, Imolites can now simply visit:www.education.imo.gov.ng to solve many years that getting the certificate was a real headache.

Records have it that people had to travel long distances to government offices, wait for weeks or even months, deal with lost or damaged paper records, and face “middlemen” who demanded extra money – especially from those living abroad just to get FSLC.

There are also people that all these listed frustration often stopped from getting jobs, school admission, or other opportunities, but now, the new site: www.education.imo.gov.ng, changes everything.

From the information given by Professor B.T.O. Ikegwuoha, the Imo State Commissioner for Education (Primary & Secondary), and Dr Chimezie Amadi, Commissioner for Digital Economy & E-Government, Imolites can now check their result online in minutes and download a genuine, tamper-proof certificate instantly.

Special Assistant to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Public communications, Prince Eze Ugochukwu said that this now means that there are no more physical visits to any government office, no more middlemen because everything is transparent, as the system is safe, fast, and available anywhere – even if you live outside Nigeria.

According to Ugochukwu, in Imo State now, what used to take months now takes just a few minutes. And because everything is digital, individual records are safe forever – no more fear of fire, flood, or losing the paper copy.

“This is not just about certificates. It is about building a digitally smart Imo State where government services work for the people – simple, fast, and honest.

“Whether you are a student, a parent, or someone who finished primary school decades ago, you can now get your First School Leaving Certificate with just a few clicks.

“So if you need yours, do not travel. Do not pay anyone a “helping fee.” Just go online, check, download, and smile. @ www.education.imo.gov.ng. Imo State is moving forward – and you can move with it,” Ugochukwu said.

Meanwhile, Professor B.T.O. Ikegwuoha, the Imo State Commissioner for Education (Primary & Secondary), explained at the media briefing that his ministry no longer handles cash at all.

“All examination fees – for WAEC, NECO, First School Leaving, Junior WAEC, and Common Entrance – are now paid online. No cash, no stress, no hidden charges,” Ikegwuoha said.
