Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has congratulated former Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain.

Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Speaker, in a press statement extends Kalu’s congratulatory message, where he said that Ikpeazu’s experience in governance has adequately prepared him for this new challenge.

Congratulating Ikpeazu, Kalu said, “As you embark on this national assignment, I am confident that your diplomatic skills, strategic vision, and leadership abilities will enable you to make a significant impact in strengthening Nigeria-Spain relations.”

The Deputy Speaker of the green chamber highlighted the importance of the ambassadorial role, believing that Ikpeazu will promote trade and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and Spain.

In his words, “Your appointment comes at a time when Nigeria is seeking to deepen its engagement with Spain and the European Union (EU). I have no doubt that you will work hard to promote trade, investment, and cultural exchange between our nations.

“I wish you wisdom, resilience, and success in this new chapter. Your dedication to Nigeria’s progress and global standing is evident, and I look forward to seeing the positive outcomes of your efforts in strengthening bilateral ties and promoting mutual understanding.”

Acknowledging Ikpeazu’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress, the deputy speaker wished the former governor success in his new role.
