The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has appointed Barr. Ekuma E. Emmanuel as Chairman of the Ebonyi State Caretaker Committee.
The party also appointed a seasoned Journalist and former Senior Aide to the Governor, Hon. Moses Idika as Secretary and eleven others, members of the Caretaker Committee.
This was contained in a statement issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Hon. Umar Bature, on Wednesday.
Others appointed as Members of the Ebonyi State Caretaker Committee are: Chief Christopher E Ngwuta, Hon Nnanna E Oji, Chief Godwin O Nwode, Barr Ugochukwu Obasi, and Engr Odanwu E Ifeanyi.
Others include, Barr Lawson Chukwu, Chief Matthew Nkwegu, Igboke Chukwuma, Mr Adiele A Okoro, Hon Muhammad I Oken, and Mr Augustine Ezike.
According to the Organising Secretary, “the assignment takes effect from November 26th 2025 and the Committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the Party in Ebonyi State, as stipulated in Section 21(2) (a-b) of our Party Constitution for a period not exceeding 30 days.”
Recall that Ebonyi State PDP has been without leadership, ever since the Federal High Court nullified the erstwhile executive almost two years ago.
The several efforts put in place by the National Working Committee of the party to organized fresh State Congress in Ebonyi have all met bricks, due to logistics and political issues.
